For this project, I had to design two different types of merchandise for one of my favorite anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion by Hideaki Anno, using an original illustration I created. I decided to go with a poster and a shirt because they felt like practical, classic merch items that people actually enjoy collecting and using.

 

When designing the poster, I wanted to create something that people would actually want to hang up in their space.

 

For the shirt, I thought a lot about wearability. I wanted the design to look cool and recognizable to fans but still subtle enough that someone could wear it casually without it screaming “anime merch.” My goal was to make pieces that people would genuinely love to use and show off in their day-to-day lives, not just stash away as collectibles.
